How to: pack

Ok, so I had to pack for Ontario and for Florida, no need to say that these two places have a very different weather and I've never been to neither of them so I had no idea of what to pack. My final conclusion was to pack a little bit of everything... My limit not to have to pay for extra weight on my suitcase was the size of suitcase I chose. And if you are worried of having to pay for some extra weight on the flight back home, the solution is simple just buy a cheap carry on suitcase that will fit the extra items you bought on your trip.

How to: put a collection together

I'm reading a very interesting book about how fashion designers makes their collections.

First of all, they inspire themselves in something like the nature, a painting, a photo, a decade or even a person, the inspiration can be a inspiration board or simply two or three things/images. 

They choose the colours based on that inspiration and the designs also starts from the inspiration so the collection have a certain coherence. 

The fabrics and the prints are usually choosen after the sketches are ready. 

After putting all that together they choose carefully the models to their campaigns and fashion shows. 

The themes of the fashion shows and campaigns have to be adequate to the theme and to the collection, so it is a lot of work. 

Besides all that they have to promote the brand, choose the right places to advertise the campaigns, host/attend the right events and have the right people to help them. 

But most of all, they need money to do all that. If they don't have that money they have to find someone to be their sponsor.

I knew that putting a collection togheter gives a lot of work. But this is even bigger that I could imagine...

If you wanna be a fashion designer someday as I want, start preparing yourself from now. Because it won't be easy at all.

This is just a little example, what they do is much more and gives so much work.
After all these steps there's also two more things to do: choose the fabrics and promote the collection.
Well I got tired and excited reading this book and trying to put this example together for you girls.
