This is a typical South American dessert and it is called Doce de Leite or Dulce de Leche in spanish...

I tried to make it last week but it didn't turn out as good as the one we have back home :/

Last week we had no classes so I went down to my friend's Lu host family's cabin...

I snowboarded and Lu skied, it was really fun!

I wish I had the guts to just cut my hair already! I've being wanting to cut it real short for a couple years now and I'm actually about to do it because my hair is annoying me so much right now! The problem is: I don't have a hair dresser here and I don't trust anyone to cut my hair because it is curly and people have screwed it up before.

Plus in Canada hair dressers are sooo expensive! 

It sucks for me, because it's a fact that exchange students never have money -.-

Hey everyone I got my Grad Photos proofs yesterday and I was sooo excited! But there's only one thing that bothers me: they are sooo expensive! It's ridiculous! I don't even know if I'm getting any...  But here they are so you can take a look at them.

Alguém me explica?

Por que? Como é que pode, toda vez que a gente tem alguma coisa programada aparecem outras mil coisas pra gente fazer e quando a gente não tem nada pra fazer nada mais aparece?? Alguém por favor me explica?

Isso me revolta gente! Mas fazer o que né.... O negócio é escolher uma das opções e esperar que seja a melhor né. 
O pior é que sempre rola aquela dúvida de será que escolhi a opção certa? É pior do que escolher o sabor do sorvete (referência a imagem acima, brega eu sei bahaha) :p

Esse fim de semana ta bem assim pra mim. Principalmente porque semana que vem não tenho aula porque é o feriado da família aqui :)

Veremos o que acaba acontecendo.

International Dinner for ShelterBox

This saturday the dinner that me and the other exchange students have been organizing for months finally happened and it was a success!!

The goal of the dinner was to raise  money to help something called ShelterBox which is a disaster relief kit, created and sponsored by Rotary. We did everything for the dinner, since cleaning, decorating, helping to cook (we had one volunteer chef), we made the dessert ourselves (they were typical from our countries) and then we took everything down and cleaned up. It was the most tiring weekend of my life but it was worth it because we raised enough money to buy 12 shelter boxes (after paying for all of our expenses), considering each kit costs one thousand dollars I think we did amazing. 

A big thank you for all the Rotarians that helped us organizing and making this happen and to all of the people that went to the dinner or made donations!

Tuesday randoms: Valentine's?

If you are like me and have no boyfriend to spend Valentine's Day with, take yourself on a date or just go out with your friends or even take the day for yourself and just chill at home.... Do no freak out just because you don't have a boyfriend (or girlfriend)!

 Remember to enjoy yourself everyday! 

Because you will surely be with yourself for your entire life.

Sometimes it feels good to simply dress up and do a photo shoot with your little brother (like I used to do in Brazil) or with your little host brothers (like I do now in Canada) :p
